An alphabetical listing of specific situations with children, and the helpful verses that may apply

(This list is by no means complete. Hopefully each parent will add to this list from her/his own knowledge and experience.)

 

* Afraid, being scared, or worried, (See also "Sadness"):

Psalms 56:3, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."

Philippians 4:6, Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Comparing with Dan.3:16 (below), shows the meaning of "careful" is "afraid". Literal is "full of care", which someone is, when they are afraid.)

Daniel 3:16, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. (They were "not afraid" to do what was right.)

*Anger, or getting even (hitting, etc.), (See also "Revenge"):

Eph. 4:26, Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:Titus 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

Romans 12:17-21: 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou

2 Corinthians 12:10: (Application: accepting your lot in life!)

Ephesians 4:1-3: (Applications: accepting your lot in life, or having a good attitude toward others)
